Thank you for participating in our 41st Annual Fair.  Thank you for your patience and flexibility in dealing with the very soggy morning. Your persistence was rewarded with a glorious, sunny and warm afternoon.  Our wonderful Fair is about collaboration and community. Thank you all for that.

We look forward to seeing you again next year for Fair 42.  I will start my Sun Dance early for next June.

Warm Regards,

2017 Homecoming Day Fair update

After consulting with the National Weather Service and the West Island Weather Service we have decided to go on with the Fair.

Vendors should be advised that there will be approximately 2 hours of heavy rain and should make arrangements to cover their booths.

The Entertainment and the Art Show will be set up in the Town Hall and during periods of heavy weather people may choose to go into the Town Hall auditorium.

We hope people will use common sense and be safe.  After the bad weather it should clear rapidly and we can look forward to a lovely day and hopefully an excellent Fair for all.

RE: Weather
Fairhaven Homecoming Fair

Hello Vendors, Art Show Exhibitors, Entertainment,

Participants and all Friends of our Homecoming Day Fair,

I know you are concerned about the weather forecast.  We are carefully monitoring the weather, but cannot determine severity at this time.  As the policy indicates, we will inform you all by 6:00 a.m. on the status of the fair.  We all hope that we will be able to hold the Fair tomorrow.  As you know, there is no rain date.  It would be impossible to get all of you, as well as Police, Fire, EMS, BPW, and so many others together again.  We will thus make every attempt to hold the Fair, however, the safety of all will be the deciding factor.  Please say a prayer, do a sun dance or send good thoughts to the idea of better weather.

Sincerely,

Barbara Acksen

President, Fairhaven Improvement Association

RE:  Weather Issues

The Fair is generally held rain or shine, but if there is major street flooding and a significant chance of lightning and heavy winds, we may have to make the decision to cancel the Fair.  If so, we will make this decision as early as possible, but not later than 6:00 a.m. the day of the Fair.

Vendors will be notified by email and we will post the notification on our website and our FACEBOOK page:

You may also tune in to radio stations WBSM 1420 AM or FUN 107 WFHN FM.
