For over 120 years we have worked in the Town of Fairhaven, Massachusetts to reach out to the community, improve it with our worthy projects and offer help where it is needed. Beautification projects, restoration projects and many other outreach programs have been completed to support our Town.

Fairhaven Improvement Association Annual Dinner Meeting and Awards Banquet

The Fairhaven Improvement Association held its annual dinner and awards banquet at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford. The new officers for 2007-2008 are: President Angela Dawicki, Vice President Trey Whalley, Recording Secretary Teresa Pereira, Corresponding Secretary Linda Meredith, Treasurer Curtis Lopes, and Historian Alice Rex Cooney.

The new FIA Board of Directors for 2007-2010 are: Dorothy Gammons, Milton George, Sharon LaCroix, James Leal, Sue McGann, Antone Lopes, Diane Lopes, Thomas Perry, Ann Pinto, George "Pete" Sirois. Kristin Rossi and Jay Simmons were selected to fill in uncompleted terms for 2007-2008.

The following individuals were presented Outstanding Community Service Awards: Mildred Brennan, Cuffy and Linda Tunstall, and Sheila Tunstall McKenna. The businesses that received the Beautification Awards for beautification of property were: Southern Mass Credit Union, Riccardi's Restaurant, and Carousel Miniature Golf Course.

Joseph Thomas, President of Spinner Publications, presented a slide show on John Manjiro at the dinner meeting.
